I love the woodgrain background... it's the perfect backdrop to flowers and vellum bits and pieces. I couldn't leave my vellum flowers behind... they seem to make it to all of my cards these days! LOL!

I had this alcohol ink background (Tim Holtz ink and gold foil) in my stash and it was perfect for the heat embossed vellum butterfly. Sometimes I have a hard time to find a way to showcase alcohol ink

Hello Sweet Friends! I have another card using Heart Candy clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:

I didn't want this to be a traditional Valentine's Day card.. so it's good for a number of different occasions... love, just because, encouragement... you name it!

I used pink Reese Brea shimmer paint for the background and to color the heart.

alcohol ink background.

Hello Friends! Praying you are all staying WARM! We had a nasty storm followed by freezing cold. It's going to warm up later on, but this morning schools had delayed opening due to temperature. BRRR...

I've been trying to craft more... trying to use up backgrounds, images, embellishments stashed up on my desk. It's a mess! Anyhow... couple of months ago (or maybe longer than that) I was making a lot of alcohol ink backgrounds... but because of my crafting style, I was having difficulty using those pretty backgrounds... but from time to time, I get inspired and make something with them that I am happy with... like this lovely mixed media style wall hanging:

 

I am really happy how this turned out... it allows the background to show and shine, but doesn't take away from the main elements.

Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. Heart Candy.

Hello Sweet Friends! I have a colorful card using Heart Candy clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:

So... I don't send out Valentine's Day cards, but I really wanted to use this stamp set. Plus I do like using hearts on my cards... hearts are for LOVE and we need to LOVE one another every day... and we need to celebrate it, cherish it every single day!

Anyhow... I turned this card into a SWEET birthday card... who doesn't want candy for their birthday?!

I stamped 4 hearts on scrap paper, cut them out to use them as masks... then I just went crazy stamping the hearts and little messages...I used Reese Brea shimmer paint to color the images.

Hello Sweet Friends! Just popping in with a SWEET card using the January Stamp of the Month, Filigree Hearts clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:

The  background is heat embossed with white embossing powder over the heart images, then sponged with coral distress ink. I also embossed the greeting on the vellum, using the same coral distressed ink with clear embossing powder.

It's a pretty straight water coloring technique.. no fuss, no muss... no tricks... just couple of popped up images for dimension...

I used Reese Brea shimmer paint and water color paint to color the image... I also stamped and extra heart and cut out only the flower to add some dimension to my card... it is so easy to add an extra touch to your card without breaking the bank!

Hello Sweet Friends! I have couple of cards using In Stitches Alpha clear stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps:

The images (stitched letters, sun, cut out cloud and llama) are colored with Reese Brea shimmer paint. I love how pretty it looks in real life... it has a lot of shimmer and adds a nice touch to any projects...

I wasn't able to catch the sparkly finish, but I used Brea Reese shimmer paints...
