Good Morning! I am back with a card for Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge. This month it is a color challenge. I picked this photo as the inspiration:
I combined it with the new sketch at The Sweet Stop, SSS212:
So I don't have any PTI card stock... I had to use papers from SU!. I think I was able to match the colors pretty good:
I used the same ink for the leaves... so to get the soft tone, I inked up the base image, stamped it on a scrap paper, then while there was still some ink on the stamp, I stamped it again on the die cut image... the second (highlight) image was stamped while the stamp was fully inked... when I was stamping the Groovy Guava base rose (1st image), the color was just too dark, and I wanted a softer image...
I did have to stamp the rose image 5-6 times before I liked the result... so since I had some extra flowers, at the end I decided to add more flowers to the card:
Recipe: The Sweet Life and Happy Hexagon Mini stamp set... The Sweet Life Die set and Quatrefoil Cover Plate die(PTI), Circle dies (Spellbinders)... Lucky Limeage, Groovy Guava, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze ink pads (SU!)... Lucky Limeage, Cajun Craze, and So Saffron (SU!), Whisper White (Georgia Pacific) card stock, Dictionary page... Baker's Twine, pearls, cheese cloth, green Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angel)...
Make sure you check out what the rest of the Sugar Babies came up with: Cathy McCauley, Korin Sutherland, Ceal Pritchett, Faye-Wynn Jones, Marlena Peduzzi, Melissa Shultz, Robin Parker, Stephanie Serrano, and the new Team Members: Ann Tuck, Cynthia Olheiser, Debbie Owens, and Jamie Moore.
Enjoy your weekend,
