I have 2 cards for you today. I used the same color combination- SU! Real Red, Old Olive, Marigold Morning, and Vintage Violet- and got 2 very different cards.
The first card is for a girl. The lay-out came from Beate's blog. I wanted to use my Marvy punches and that lay-out was just perfect for it...
I stamped the punched out MM card stock with So saffron ink using the flower stamp from Fresh Fillers then dry embossed it with Cuttlebug's Bloom Dots embossing plate.
It doesn't show up well, but I also stamped the red background with the same stamp.
The butterfly stamp is from Joann's for a $1. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I put Crystal Effects on the wings and poured psychedelic embossing powder on it. Don't ask me why. I guess I just wanted to see if that would look different than glitter. It doesn't really.
The flower eye-lets are Joann ScrapEssentials. I thought the flowers went well with the background...
The greeting is part of the stamp. I just stamped it on a separate piece of paper.
Size: 51/2 x 4 1/2
Stamps: Fresh Fillers, bee stamp ?? (2007 KPM) from Joann's.
Paper/Ink: Real Red, Old Olive, Marigold Morning, and Vintage Violet. Basic Black, Real Red, and So Saffron ink.
Access/Tools: Marvy giga scalloped punch, Marvy mega circle punch, Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing plate made my ProvoCraft, ScrapEssentials flower eye-lets, eye-let setting tools, Crystal Effects, Inkadinkado's psychedelic embossing powder, and organdy ribbon.
The other card is more for a boy. I had graduation in my mind, since DS just had his graduation from pre-school the other day... with gowns and caps... my baby is growing up...unbelievable...
Anyway, it's a simple lay-out with animals from SU! Very punny stamp set. I cut them out, put Crystal Effects on them and popped them up on dimensionals.
The white squares are 1 7/16 x 1 7/16. The colored squares are 1 9/16 x 1 9/16. I usually go by what feels good, and what looks good on the page. Some of my measurements don't make any sense. I just don't like to measure... The lay-out idea came from the current SU! Idea Book & Catalog. Pg. 6.
I did some paper-piercing in the corners, added some brads, the greeting and that's it...
Size: 4 1/2 x 5 1/2
Stamps: SU! Very Punny and Mini Mates.
Paper/Ink: SU! Real Red, Old Olive, Marigold Morning, and Vintage Violet. Basic Black ink.
Access/Tools: Scissors, Crystal Effects, paper-piercing tools, and Joann's ScrapEssentials Bright Mini brads.
